about

certainly not geof

Geof has been drawing since he was old enough to mash crayon into carpets and has been involved in creating cartoons and comics since the early 90s. His work has appeared in Punch, Physics World, Fat Chunk, and a number of less-well-known publications such as Under fire, Clint, and the University of York Physics Department Newsletter.

Since 2004 he has been diverting much of his spare time into creating, promoting and distributing his self-published comic Fetishman. The comic is currently stocked by a number of retailers across the UK and the Fetishman stall can regularly be found at comics conventions like UKWMCT, Birmingham International Comics Show, Thought Bubble, Bristol International Comics Expo and Whitby Goth Weekend. He has exhibited work at London's only kinky cafe-gallery Coffee, Cake and Kink as well as sh! the women's erotic emporium.

A career in science has moved Geof from Suffolk to London and then York, but he currently resides in Leeds where the cider is plentiful and the living is as easy as he can just about bear it to be. Several new comics are in the pipeline, first of which will be a collection of his steampunk cartoons.

commission

STATUS: June 2010 - temporarily closed (until I've caught up with stuff)

There is very little Geof won't consider drawing, but pricing will depend on the time required to complete the job: a cybernetic moon-base in the style of alphonse mucha will take more time than a teddy bear holding a squid. If you wish to retain licensing rights for re-publishing the work this may also incur an increase. For general guidelines on such matters a useful online resource is the association of illustrators.

After agreeing on roughs the final artwork will typically be in the form of a digital file or an a3 or a4 print. Geof's usual drawing method is a mixture of traditional pen work and digital manipulation: as such originals generally do not exist unless specifically requested.

commission a barbarian-you!

STATUS: June 2010 - closed

(a.k.a. "the fabulous game")

Recently geof drew some barbarian-esque caricatures of certain of his acquaintances, superimposing barbarian-style cartoons atop pre-drawn identical piles-o-skulls (many of which can be seen here). These were well received, and in response to the subsequent demand you are cordially invited to partake of the fabulous game! woo!: basically for each successive caricature the cost of the commission increments in units of £1. Why? well, for a laugh really. If it takes off then geof can have more cider and you can all have barbarian pictures, which is surely no bad thing?
